Lots of pics missed before this stage - but the shell is now glued up using loads of No20 and No10 biscuits. The front and side faces are mitred and the rear butt joined.

You can't see in this pic, but I've also applied the first of several coats of 'Patina' (an easy to apply, very hard wearing rub-on polyurethane finish) to the exterior. Centre support and top/bottom trim not shown yet.

One of the doors glued and cramped up using home made mitre cramp jigs and a band cramp (Halfords). The mitres fit with the design of my coffee table in the living room.

Obviously the tank needs adding! 1" polystyrene to go on top first and then a maple trim will be fixed to the top hiding the ply top, polystyrene and tank bottom.

With doors open - they open 170deg and can be removed for easy access. The centre support seen here is also removeable so the sump can be fitted. It will stay in place permanently for support.

Showing the 120mm extract fan and a hole for electrics. The fan was a plastic grille fitten on the outside to keep it looking neat.
